Bell Elementary Middle School Team

This site provides access to basic, but important information related the middle school team at Bell Elementary for grades 6-8. Here you can find office hour information, a school calendar, teacher contact info and other relevant information throughout the year. It is NOT a homework website. Homework and associated materials are still maintained in Classroom and your child's assignment notebook. If you have specific questions, please contact a teacher directly. Our emails are listed on the Contact Us page.

WELCOME BACK TO A NEW YEAR!

We are looking forward to a great year at Bell School. To get us off on the right foot, please take care of the small, start of year tasks:

  • Submit any necessary paperwork and student fees. (We need a signed income statement from everyone, but you can leave it blank other than the student name and your signature if you prefer not to share that info with us. Just having the signed application makes us eligible for support funds.)

  • Make sure you have access to Parent Portal (ASPEN) to ensure that you are able to effectively monitor student academic progress. If your login is not working, please contact the main office for assistance.

  • Double check your supply list to make certain you are providing your child with the necessary materials to ensure their readiness for success each day. If you are struggling to obtain anything, please let us know. EVERY CHILD MUST HAVE A PAIR OF EAR BUDS AT SCHOOL.

HIGH SCHOOL APPLICATION INFO

We encourage you to attend Open Houses and conduct any other school-related research BEFORE submitting your application, to decrease the need for changing school choices. The CPS Office of Access and Enrollment has created a FAQ on the HS process that can be found at the following link https://go.cps.edu/. For additional questions or to request a paper application, contact the Office of Access and Enrollment at 773- 553-2060 or gocps@cps.edu .

HOW TO TALK AND LISTEN TO YOUR KIDS ABOUT VIOLENCE AND TRAUMATIC EVENTS

There were multiple events this summer that will contribute to student anxiety about their safety and the state of the world in general. Oxygen is a CPS supported program to help adults develop strategies to talk and listen to your children about traumatic events. Click on "Parent" after you get to the main page. Hopefully you will find the resources and guidance helpful.
