Quadratic Forms & Features
Quadratic Forms & Features
This unit is designed to help you master the relationship between quadratic equations and their corresponding graphs. You'll learn to manipulate and graph quadratic functions in standard, factored, and vertex form, and you'll develop the skills to confidently identify key features of these graphs.
In this unit, we will:
Explore the three common forms of quadratic equations: standard, vertex, and factored form, and understand how each form reveals different characteristics of a parabola.
Learn to identify key features of a parabola, including the vertex, axis of symmetry, x-intercepts, y-intercept, and maximum/minimum values.
Develop your graphing skills by plotting quadratic functions accurately from each of the three forms.
Use tools like Desmos and DeltaMath to visualize and check your work.
Apply your knowledge through hands-on activities and projects.
By the end of this unit, you will be able to:
Graph quadratic functions in standard, factored, and vertex form.
Identify and label the key features of a parabola.
Convert quadratic equations between the different forms.
Apply your understanding of quadratic functions to solve real-world problems.
