AP European History

A.P. European History is a college level course dealing with the social, political, economic, cultural, and intellectual history of Europe. The course is taught over two semesters. The first semester covers from 1450 until the end of the Napoleonic Wars and the Congress of Vienna. The second semester covers from 19th century Nationalism until modern times and the European Union.

The course is structured around the following four historical periods:

Period 1: c. 1450 to c.1648 (The end of the Thirty Years' War)

Period 2: c. 1648 to c. 1815 (The end of the Napoleonic Era)

Period 3: c. 1815 to c. 1914 (The start of World War I)

Period 4: c. 1914 to the Present
