Techbridge Visit

December 1, 2017

Techbridge Girls is a program to expand the academic and career options for girls in science, technology, and engineering. Their mission is to excite, educate, and equip girls from low-income communities by delivering high quality STEM programming that empowers a girl to achieve economic mobility and better life chances.

We had an amazing time with 22 middle school age girls from American Indian Public Charter School in Oakland. They were first welcomed by Anju Gupta of our PM team and then learned about UX Design from Daniel Mark. Following this they went through a fun mobile app coding activity lead by Aaron McIntrye of our mobile dev team. All in all there was lots of learning and the girls were beaming with smiles when they left. Special thanks to everyone that made this day happen, this is truly a special program to be a part of.

Humane Society Volunteer Event

November 15, 2017

A group of HQ volunteers recently had the joy of working with the Humane Society in Burlingame. Here they attended an orientation to review obedience and behavior training for the dogs, followed by working in small groups with over 6 dogs of various age and breed. Many of these dogs are rescues including one memorable 4-year old american bulldog who was rescued from the recent storms in Houston, TX. All of the dogs that are there have a unique story and are looking for caring homes to be a part of a family.

Thanks to all those who came out and helped work with these amazing animals!
