This week in ELA, our fourth graders continued their adventure with Holes by Louis Sachar and began drafting their Compare & Contrast essays. They also enjoyed a visit to the TCS library, where they selected books that matched their personal interests.

In Math, we launched our addition unit, practicing strategies for adding large numbers. For Fun Friday, students put their place value skills to the test by solving a detective mystery: Who stole our math supplies?!

In Social Studies, we explored maps by practicing how to use latitude and longitude.

In Science, we continued our study of life science, building on our understanding of living things and their characteristics.

This week, we also focused on learning how to talk to our friends kindly—and how to extend that same grace to ourselves when we make mistakes.
