Meet Mrs. Barfield
My name is Anita Barfield and I am a first grade teacher at Vandervoort Elementary. I received my Associate of Arts Degree at Rich Mountain Community College and my Bachelor's Degree in Education from Henderson State University. This school year will be my 26th year in education and my 6th year at Vandervoort Elementary.
My favorite thing about teaching is watching my former students grow and learn. I have had the honor of seeing my former students become educators as well. I have even had the privilege of working with a couple.
I have lived in Gilham, Arkansas with my husband, Bill for 39 years. We have 1 daughter who is also an elementary teacher. We have two fantastic grandchildren who attend Cossatot River High School and Wickes Elementary. I enjoy reading, cooking, vacationing at the beach, and spending time with my beautiful family.
I look forward to working with you and your child this new school year.
