We are Surfing into Kindergarten!

About the Teacher

Hi, my name is Nikole Harmon and I will be your child's kindergarten teacher this year at Corpus Christi School! This will be my 5th year of teaching and my second year here at Corpus. I grew up in the Foothills, where I was an avid swimmer, runner and soccer player. I left this pastoral setting to attend Sonoma State University and I studied abroad in Sweden during my Junior year. In 2009, I received my B.A. in Communications and a Minor in Women and Gender Studies, and later I obtained a Master’s Degree in Culture and Spirituality from Holy Names University. It was during this time at HNU, that I discovered my desire to teach children to become passionate lifelong learners and to respect the natural world around them.

In 2013, I worked at St. Theresa School as the 1st grade aide, and was the co-director of a summer camp in Tilden Park for three summers. While obtaining my Teacher’s Credential from CSU East Bay, I was a kindergarten teacher in OUSD for two years, and for a year at a charter school in Oakland. During my free time I enjoy running, traveling the world, interpretive dancing, baking, reading the classics, and going to local events!
