gWinds is a classical and contemporary concert band. It is a group of woodwind, brass, and percussion musicians who enjoy playing beautiful and fun music together.
gWinds' Cycle 2 performance will be on October 30, 2025! This concert will be open to Googlers and their invited guests.

David Gatwood (Conductor, ASCAP) is the son of two college music professors. He works as a software engineer in Geo Developer EngProd to pay for his music hobby. He plays and sings in a number of musical ensembles, including the G Sharp Jazz Band, the Googler Orchestra, and Ensemble Continuo, and sits on the board of directors of Ensemble Monterey Chamber Orchestra. He is also a prolific composer, with over 150 compositions, mostly in the sacred choral space, available commercially from Simply Liturgical Music (slmusic.org).Â
Gabby Germanson first met her clarinet, Claire Blackwood, in 4th grade. In high school, she participated in Minnesota All-State band 2x, was awarded the Sousa Award (highest band honor) for her class, and was the women's recipient of the Triple AAA Award (Academics, Arts, Athletics) of her class. She also grew up playing piano and was in a church choir. She continued playing clarinet for a bit in college and was excited to help restart gWinds!Â
Angel Aguayo was born and raised in Tucson Arizona and first played flute in 5th grade. In high school he received the Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence and went on to play in groups like the Arizona All Region Honor Band, University of Arizona's Pride of Arizona and their Wind Symphony. Now working as a software engineer, he plays in ensembles across the Southwest: gWinds and Googler Orchestra in the bay; Fantasy Symphony Orchestra and Marana Winds in Tucson. Angel currently plays flute and piccolo, and has dabbled in classical guitar, bari sax, and tuba.Â
Kevin Peng has been making music since kindergarten and playing the clarinet since fourth grade. He participated in school bands through twelfth grade. After starting at Google, Kevin joined the (previous) Wind Ensemble in 2019 and the Googler Orchestra in 2020. Kevin is excited to help establish gWinds as a wind ensemble for Bay Area Googlers.Â
Dee grew up playing the flute in many local ensembles, including the San Jose Youth Symphony, Golden State Youth Orchestra, and UC Berkeley Chamber Orchestra. Today, she is a software engineer in Google Research and plays percussion in gWinds and the Googler Orchestra.Â
