Hey y'all. I'm a SWE based out of Seattle on Google Compute Engine. I have given over 50 interviews at Google for various roles and levels, and I have spent time volunteering as Teaching Assistant for several Data Structures courses. I'm happy to answer any questions about early tech careers (focus areas, applications, referrals, grad school, team matching). If you'd like to set up recurring meetings, I can work with you to improve specific skillsets - particularly in Python.

Focused on filling life with activities I enjoy and love doing, having the most fun, and living my best life! I work as a Developer Relations Engineer at Google - creating content like videos, blogs, and code samples as well as presenting at conferences to help developers build, manage, and grow apps with Firebase! In the past, I coded a lot more as a software engineer, and I'm heavily involved in mentoring, teaching, and speaking to students in historically underrepresented groups in tech both at Google and outside. In fact, I taught for GIR twice at Fisk University in 2020 and 2023!

I'm very excited to work together with you, I've been a mentor in different programs like Girls Who Code, TechExchange and Code Next and I miss connecting with those experiences. In addition to interview prep and resume review, I'm happy to answer any questions about Google and tech in general. I've been at Google for almost 8 years now in California, and before that I was a software engineer in finance in NYC. Looking forward to connecting with you!

Since then, I've worked for 7 years in industry, mostly on EdTech teams. In my spare time, I've done a lot of Computer Science education volunteering, and right now I'm in the middle of completing a Masters in Learning, Design and Technology at Stanford part-time. I'm here because really enjoyed working with students in the past, and look forward to helping more students be their best selves!

I graduated from USC (in LA) in 2020 with an MS in Computer Engineering. I worked in a government research position after graduating, but started to prepare for tech interviews after I discovered what tech employees were earning on levels.fyi. Now, I work on network telemetry software used in datacenters across Google, and love my job here.
I am excited to participate in GIR to help others navigate the tech recruitment process and hopefully help you all land jobs you enjoy.
I live in San Francisco with my girlfriend and our mini daschund puppy. I enjoy outdoor activities on weekends: biking, climbing, skiing, and more!

Hi, I'm Jonathan! I've been working at Google for almost 2 years and in software engineering for about 6 years. I went to undergrad at MIT and got my CS masters at Northeastern University. I work on the networking team of the Google Kubernetes Engine, a platform to manage containerized application orchestration on Google Cloud. Looking forward to helping students get over the massive coding interview anxiety. I struggled immensely for years in undergrad until getting real practice and I hope I can give students more confidence in their future coding interviews than I had!

Hello! I'm Nancy, and I graduated from University of Florida with a bachelors in 2023. I started working in Google Cloud in Sept 2023, so I have about a year of working experience, so feel free to chat with me about how starting a full time job for the first time is! I also interned twice at Google before joining and a small company before that. I decided to volunteer since I remembered how much doing mock interviews with my friends helped me, and I hope that this experience will let you help your friends and you too (being the mock interviewer is just as helpful as being the interviewee)!

I did my undergrad in Electrical Engineering at IIT Madras. For graduate studies, I came to Stanford University where I worked on message passing algorithms for machine learning. I joined Google fresh out of grad school in 2012 and have worked on a range of teams / problems like Search, Ads and Youtube Recommendations (my current team). On the way, I had several awesome leads / mentors that I looked up to and that guided me through the journey. I would love an opportunity to pay it forward and help coach / mentor students looking for some help.

I'm a Software Engineer on Google Classroom, looking forward to meeting and helping students. I graduated from University of Maryland, Baltimore County during the pandemic (Class of 2020) and started at Google as an Engineering Resident in July 2020. My first two teams were in Google Cloud, but I moved from Maryland to NYC to work on Google Classroom in Spring 2022. During college I had an internship every summer: two with the US Navy, one with a cybersecurity startup in California and a final one with Microsoft in Seattle.

I studied software engineering in Australia, ended up graduating as a burnt out husk and decided coding wasn’t for me.
Instead, I pursued a career as a technical consultant, ended up working for Dell EMC when I came to the realization that consulting was more about smiles and handshakes - instead of solving real problems.
I pivoted back and joined Google in Germany as a software engineer, and am now an engineering manager in San Francisco with a team working on anti-fraud solutions for the web platform.
I decided to volunteer as a career coach because I appreciate that there are so many different pathways that people can be on, but regardless of the pathway, everyone deserves an opportunity to feel fulfilled by their career.

Yuri is an engineering manager at Google with over 20 years of software industry experience. Prior to Google, he has worked at Oracle, Compuware, and Hitachi Consulting, among others. His work has focused on reliability, monitoring, diagnostics, and resilience.
He graduated from Tufts University with a degree in Computer Engineering, but without much of an idea of what one can do with a technical degree other than "programmer". He hopes to use his experience to clear the path for others and help them find their way in this industry.
