We all appreciate the moment where you are recognized for something you have accomplished in attempts to become better at what you do. Celebrating educators for continuing their learning journey seems to, at times, skip over these celebratory achievements when they do something to improve their craft and essentially enhance the learning experience for their audience.

BadgeCoin is an idea that I am attempting to bring to life in attempts to use digital badging as a way for the learner to receive an immediate reward for learning something new. BadgeCoin would be a way for educators to redeem their digital badges at a local business or partner that recognizes this as a form of currency. Their digital badges are earned through demonstrating their proficiency in a specific skill and applying it within their learning environment. Different digital badges would be valued more than others depending on the rigor or time it took to earn the badge. Join me in making this dream come to life and creating a way for educators to celebrate their achievements as an adult learner.
