May was full of great Meetups!

The North American Mega Meetup took place in San Francisco, where Community members met Waze staff for presentations, discussions and fun activities. Also, Community and staff attended amazing local meetups in France, DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland), Portugal, Israel, Malaysia and Mexico.

What's coming up?

Excitement is at an all-time high, as we get ready for the EMEA Mega Meetup, taking place at the end of June!

New deal for consumers regulation was launched in the EU

We'd like to give a big shout out to the Localization and Beta communities for all their contributions in helping Waze customer support to test email and phone support in compliance with the European Union New Deal for Consumers Regulation.

Announcing New Voices: Regional Accents in Argentina & France!

Looking for a voice that sounds like you? We are excited to introduce 5 new local accent voices!

Argentinian drivers can now select Lucía, who speaks in the local dialect for Buenos Aires or Cacho, who uses the accent common in Córdoba. Read more about it here!

French drivers voted for the 3 accents they most wanted and the winners were Mireille (Provençal), Antonin (Toulouse), and Biloute (Chti), which are now all live in the app! Read more about it here!

Motorcyclists in Colombia can get a better route!

We recently created a new pass for motorcycle riders in Barranquilla, Colombia. This new pass allows motorcyclists to get a better route. If you're in the area and ride a motorcycle, click the announcement to add your permit and get a customized route.

Waze helps Texas Department of Transportation

Editors in Houston, Texas recently opened a new highway on the Waze Map. While this may seem like a normal occurrence for our community, in this case, the Waze Editors were the first to have the most up-to-date information live. Thanks to the speedy effort of these editors, the Texas Department of Transportation reached out to Waze for assistance getting the new highway live on Google Maps.

The Chilean Community makes the news!

The Chilean Community was recently featured in the local news, where Gasparfox, a coordinator, explained how to make the best out of Waze's configurations, and how to activate Google Assistant. Read more here!

Helping Manage Traffic in Las Vegas… LIVE!

Editors in Las Vegas, Nevada were invited to help manage traffic live during the recent Electric Daisy Carnival. Waze community members were given access to the control room where they monitored live traffic feeds while inputting closures, and of course got to enjoy the show!
