T2T Consortium

The Telomere-to-Telomere (T2T) consortium is an open, community-based effort to enable the routine sequencing and interpretation of complete genomes.

The T2T consortium was formed in 2018 as an open, community-based effort to generate the first complete sequence of a human genome. Finished in 2022, T2T-CHM13 revealed over 200 Mbp of novel sequence, including satellite arrays and segmental duplications that harbor unexplored variation of unknown consequence.

Our new goal is to dramatically increase the throughput of diploid T2T genome sequencing so that we can develop a better understanding of genomic code for the improvement of human health and wellbeing.
