MINERAL DUST AEROSOLS

Past and Present

Observations and Modeling

Hi !

I am a Earth scientist interested in a diverse range of topics, with a focus on low-temperature geochemistry and the feedbacks between climate, the atmospheric dynamics of mineral aerosols (atmospheric dust), and biogeochemical cycles, from both observational and modeling perspectives.

I am currently a permanent Research Scientist at the binational French-Argentine institute CIMA-IFAECI, based in Buenos Aires.

In the past, I have done a 3-month research visit at the Dipartimento di Scienze dell'Ambiente e della Terra, Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca with Dr. Samuel Albani. There, I investigated the connections between global atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and dust deposition since the Last Glacial Maximum, with a focus on southern South American dust sources and dust deposition in the southern oceans. I have also worked with Dr. Diego Gaiero (CICTERRA, Argentina) in southern South American dust dynamics, with Dr. Fabrice Lambert (Instituto de Geografía, PUC Chile) in paleodust modeling, and before that with Dr. Teresa Jordan and Dr. Jason Phipps Morgan (Cornell Unviersity, USA) in Andean hyperarid settings, and forearc and subduction plate interface geodynamics.

My studies have taken me from the Appalachian Basin in the USA to the Antarctic Peninsula, from the Atacama Desert in northern Chile to the Nördlinger Ries impact crater in Germany.

Welcome to my site !
