“The technological revolution is not going to go away. Students are used to the ability to connect to each other and have access to information at all times. We can either fight against this irrepressible force, or we can choose to use it.”

Hello! I'm Kristal Doolin, Corbin Technology Integration Specialist, National Board Certified Teacher, and 2013 Kentucky Teacher of the Year. Prior to my current position , I was primarily a 7th-grade reading/language arts teacher at Corbin Middle School. However, I've also served as a Hybrid Teacher Leader on Special Assignment with the Kentucky Department of Education, Eastern Kentucky University Instructor, 7th and 8th Grade RTI Reading Teacher, 7th Grade Social Studies Teacher and taught 11th Grade English in my earliest years of teaching.

I am a Google Certified Educator (Level 1 & 2), Google Certified Trainer, a Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert, and Skype Master Teacher. I am a co-founder of the Kentucky Appalachian Teacher Network, Edcamp coordinator, member of the Kentucky Teacher Advisory Council, NEA/Betterlesson Master Teacher, 2015 Lowell Milken Center for Unsung Heroes Fellow and a regional recipient of Kentucky Secretary of State’s 2015 Outstanding Civic Education Leadership Award.

I came into my love of educational technology through my own use and learning in the classroom over the past 20 years. I believe that used properly -when the learning goals come first and the tech is a authentic tool to get students there - it can be a game changer and can open up the door to true collaboration and communication.

I can't wait to work with you and your students!
