Being in IB can occupy a lot of time that you had previously dedicated as free-time. With this blog my goal is to hopefully give you advice on why to not quit on your sport at any time. With AP classes across the board, joining a sport that you are interested in is most likely not the first thing that comes to your mind, however as much as it might be stressful it is definitely worth it. It is possible to balance the sport and however many AP classes you may have; sports are extremely beneficial for not only your body but your mind. A sport can provide an escape much needed in your world that is more likely than not entirely made up of school and book work. Having the ability to take 2-3 hours of your day after school to forget about your homework and classes can really take a big burden off your shoulders, whether the sport you partake in consists of only running or more extraneous physical contact, any extreme of physical activity is enough. One of the biggest concerns is the amount of time you will have left after school and how it may affect you; the time is enough. With enough focus I can guarantee you will have enough time to finish your homework, while some days it may be harder than others, you can most definitely pull through. One of the harder days comes when you have to study for a big test, and although they may become a little more stressful, in the long run you will surely benefit from it. At the end of the day sports add a competitive nature which is crucial to self-development. I have faced these issues head on as well and have also considered quitting but I can say that I do not regret quitting. Do not quit your sport, you do not truly understand how important it is until later and how much you will deeply regret quitting it as you grow up.
