As a student in IB, "fun" is a word that is rarely used let alone experienced. With all of the responsibilities that come with being an IB student, we can rarely make time for things like “fun”. However, that doesn’t mean there is no way to budget our time so that we can both complete assignments on time and have a little bit of fun on the side.
One of the most well recognized ways to get your work done quickly is to make a list of your tasks and check off what you have done one by one. This allows for you to be well organized and gives you a way to visualize all of the things that you must complete. Many studies have shown that using a list to track your progress increases productivity. And the satisfaction of crossing off a task gives you a reason to look forward to the completion of the task.
Next you need to make sure that you prioritize your responsibilities. Meaning, organize your tasks in a way that show which must be done urgently and which do not. It is suggested that you organize your tasks into 2 categories, which of the tasks are meant to be done as soon as possible and which tasks you have the option of putting off if needed. Then, organize these into 2 more categories, which are time consuming, and which aren’t. The tasks that you deem are not time consuming and are urgent should be done first, then you should complete the tasks that you feel are time consuming and urgent, and so on.
Finally, and most importantly, do not procrastinate. It is understandable that putting off work may seem like an attractive thing to do, but trust me, the faster you get tasks done the easier of a time you will have in the future. In general, as long as you prioritize and are organized, you should be able to complete all of your tasks in no time. After which you will have free time to do whatever you please.
