For the last showdown of the year, the fast food connoisseurs jump in the Honda Civic once again, and hit the streets of Copley to discover the best açaí bowl in town: Pulp versus Robeks.
We began by traveling to receive our first açaí bowl from Robeks. We ordered the Nutty Açaí Bowl for a total of $9.29, found a pleasant spot outside and took our first bite. We noticed that the bowl had a nice array of fruit, including blueberries, strawberries and banana, as well as a crunchy granola that added to the overall flavor and texture. The peanut butter contributed a strong contrast to the sweet fruit, and created a tasty, balanced bowl. The one thing we didn’t particularly enjoy was the runniness of the açaí itself, as it was the texture of a melted smoothie and not the easiest to eat.
After we finished our bowl, we headed down the streets of Montrose and arrived at Pulp. We ordered the PB & G bowl for a total of $6.75, and upon its arrival we sat down inside, eager and ready to settle this dispute. We took our first bite, and it’s safe to say we were very impressed. The açaí had a thick, sorbet-like texture, unlike the bowl we received from Robeks, and was satisfying to eat. The banana, peanut butter and granola were the perfect toppings to this bowl, and created a dynamic flavor.
After we finished both bowls, we returned to the Honda for the last and final deliberation. Following some careful thought, we determined that Pulp was our final Fast Food Wars champion. While both bowls had a delicious flavor and thoughtful combinations of fruit and toppings, the price and texture of Pulp’s PB & G bowl is what sealed the deal. The next time you drive around in your Honda longing for a smoothie bowl to satisfy your hunger, choose Pulp.
