English and theatre teacher Maggie Steffen absolutely loves her rottweiler named Odin. She came up with Odin because she wanted him to have a German-like name as he is a German breed. Odin is 9 1/2 years of age. Steffen describes Odin as smart, loving and playful even though he is old.
“What don’t I love about him?” Steffen said.
Odin is a loyal, relaxed dog, but is still alert and attentive when anyone walks past the house. Steffen describes him as Dwayne Johnson, also known as The Rock.
Social studies teacher Samantha Beagle has a Burmese poodle that is full of energy. Over quarantine, Beagle and her children decided to buy this puppy. Its name is Violet which her kids decided on based on the movie, The Incredibles. Violet is a quarantine puppy, so she barks at every person that walks by, even at 5 a.m.
“I’m her favorite person in the family,” Beagle said.
Violet is always excited when Beagle gets home. She describes Violet as fun, adorable and loud. Violet gets out of the house by going to Copley Barks Doggy Daycare at Copley High School while Beagle teaches nearby.
Science teacher Gene Lynn owns a female labrador retriever mix. Amoxici Lynn, who his children call “Moxy,” was rescued by Lynn’s family at the Cleveland Animal Protective League in Cleveland. Moxy is about 3 years old and is described by Lynn as sweet, loving and stupid. She is also described as the character Phoebe from "Friends." Lynn loves that she is always excited to see him when he walks through the door.
“The dog likes me.” Lynn said.
