Gifted and Talented Tournament

On Wednesday 30th January, 18 children from Year 5 and 6 attended the Cooper Family, North Oxfordshire School Sports Partnership Athletics Gifted and Talented Tournament. Each child took part in two field and two track events, collecting points as they competed. The team showed great determination and resilience throughout the morning, working hard to ensure they beat their personal best and continued to support each other. After a very successful morning, Glory Farm came second with a total of 98 points. Well done team!

MULTI-SKILLS TOURNAMENT

On Wednesday 17th January, all of Year 3 attended a multiskills festival at The Cooper School. The children were split into teams and had to complete a total of 10 activities including target throwing, relay hurdles and long jumping. Each station was designed to test a different discipline: hand eye co-ordination, speed, agility and accuracy. All the children had a fantastic time and worked brilliantly as a team to achieve the highest score possible. The theme of the festival was teamwork and a total of 5 children from Glory Farm School received a certificate for showing particularly strong teamwork skills. These children were: Bethany Allen, Jack Clements, Max Hickling, Thomas Hendon and Benjamin Pearson. Congratulations! All the children behaved impeccably and were a pleasure to have representing our school.

TAG RUGBY TOURNAMENT

On Wednesday 4th October, two teams of Year 5 and 6 pupils attended The Cooper Family Tag Rugby Tournament. The day was dry but windy, but this didn’t stop the enthusiasm seen on the pitch from all of the players. The A and B teams competed in different pools and came runners up in both pools – a fantastic outcome for both the teams and the school. All the pupils showed great communication, determination and team spirit during the matches and thoroughly enjoyed the morning.

6th April 2017

Over the past few weeks, Year 6 (Miss Finch’s class) have participated in the BBC Radio Oxford ‘Move It’ campaign. The aim of the campaign is to increase physical activity and development across the county and promote the many health benefits that can be gained from implementing more movement into our days. BBC Radio Oxford have created a dance routine, to the Trolls ‘Move it’ song, which Year 6 have practised and learnt. It was so good, we recorded it and this recording was submitted to be turned into a montage film to inspire our county to get active.

To add to the excitement, this morning four of the pupils, Lois, Louis, Piper and William, were interviewed live on BBC Radio Oxford. To hear the interview download the podcast and fast forward to around 53:00mins. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p04xms48
