We will travel to each school (dates below) to run first auditions for anybody who is keen to take part.
There's nothing to worry about - and we really want to meet you, and hear you sing - no matter whether you have been in shows before or not. We are keen to meet all sorts of actors and singers. AND... if you have a friend who can sing or act but might not think this is for them, why not bring them along too !
At the audition, we will introduce the show to you and tell you a bit about it. We will then do some group singing (all together) before hearing each person one at a time. We won't ask you to sing solo in front of other students at these first auditions. Every person that wants to audition needs to do both the group singing and pick one of the short solo pieces below (or at least be prepared to sing the ensemble piece by themselves).
Below... there are short solo pieces for some of the main characters, AND there is a short extract of one of the chorus songs that you can pick if you just want to be in the ensemble or if you really aren't sure which other character to go for.
Everybody should learn at least the Ensemble piece "Chant (reprise)" (below). We will work on this together at the audition before hearing people sing individually.
After we have met everybody at the first round of auditions, we will hold recall auditions where we invite some of you back so we can hear more from you and start to see how the different casting options might work. We won't recall everybody - but if we don't recall you, it doesn't mean that you are not in the show... it just means that we didn't need to see you again straight away.
After the recalls, we will make the final casting decision and let everybody know how the show has been cast (named roles and main ensemble).
One of the things we learnt from doing previous shows is that we need to be able to contact lots of students across a number of different academies. The best way to do this is by getting everybody added to a Google Classroom. We will create this once we have cast the show.
For now - please click on this link to let us know you plan to attend the audition at your school.
You will need to make sure you are logged in with your school google account (not your personal one).

Orpheus
