Once you have submitted the teacher registration form, you should receive an email with your invoice. You will then be given a link for student registration. Please fill out the form for each student you have competing. There is a space to indicate if students will be competing in multiple languages.

Teachers must be current members of AFLTA in order to participate. See for more information on the organization and its benefits. To pay membership dues for AFLTA, please click HERE.

When you or your schools are ready to pay, please follow this link HERE or send checks along with your invoice to AFLTA.

If you are looking for an easy way to introduce the competition to your students, here is an excellent Slideshow that you are welcome to use. Another way you could help give students a taste of what each event requires is to use these Activity Stations prepared by Megan King (Conway Junior High Spanish). Feel free to copy and adapt these to fit your language or level needed.

Updates 2019

Middle Level Division

Students in grades 5-7 will be organized into a middle level competition for the following events: poetry, reading, speaking, and vocabulary.

Reorganized Talent

The talent competition will be reorganized into 3 categories: Dramatic, Musical, and Dance Performance. Solo performers will be scored in a separate category from groups for Spanish only.

Restructured Art

The art competition will be restructured into 3 portions: individual artwork, collaborative artwork, and a live sketch competition.
