What this lesson teaches: 

Perspective - near and far points of view - shading/shadows by use of the light of the moon in the picture creating a silhouette of a tree. 

What this lesson teaches: 

It introduces an artist [Wayne Thiebaud], and shows ways to add 3D elements to a drawing. It also shows real life objects, such as food, can be turned into art. 

What this lesson teaches: 

Use of shading to turn a flat image into a 3D image and using curved lines going opposite directions to create an illusion of cones pointing to the center of the paper.
