Weekly Information
📚Reading: Kindergarteners are learning how to be active listeners while learning in kindergarten. This month we are focusing on asking and answering questions to a fiction book that is read aloud. Scholars will also participate in alphabet bootcamp where they will explore letters and their sounds. Students should know all 26 uppercase letters, 26 lowercase letters, and 26 sounds by December.
✏️Writing: Writing our names with one uppercase letter and the rest lowercase letters is the focus of writing time for the month of August. Students will also learn to draw with shapes and how to properly form letters.
🔢Mathematics: Scholars in K will learn how to be mathematicians in kindergarten. We will begin by learning the rules and procedures of math stations while exploring graphs and 2D shapes.
🔬Science: What is a scientist? Kindergarten scholars will learn what a scientist does, how to use science tools and science safety this month. Please make sure to sign and return your child's Science Safety Contract.
🌎Social Studies: Kindergarten scholars will learn about the importance of rules and being a good citizen in the month of August.
