Future 9th Graders

The information below is to help guide you through the course selection process for your future 9th grader at Caney Creek High School. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your student's school counselor with questions.

Graduation Requirements

Your student will need 26 in order to graduate in May of 2028. Please look at the chart to the left to see what the credit requirements are for each subject.

Your student selected a career pathway in the fall to follow for their elective classes throughout high school. Information is below.

All of our career pathways are designed to be started in either 9th or 10th grade and completed by graduation.

during English Language Arts On Friday, February 23rd, 2024, all 8th grade students at MJH watched the video to the right about Panther Verification.

In addition to watching the video, students were given the Gold and Pink Panther Verification sheets pictured below. Please click on Course List for Incoming 9th Graders to see the courses your students could select.

Gold panther verification Sheet

Any changes were made on the gold Panther Verification sheet. All students signed their gold Panther Verification sheet and turned it into their English Language Arts teacher.

Pink panther verification Sheet

The pink Panther Verification sheet was sent home with your student so that they may discuss their choices with parents/guardians. Please have your student turn this in by Friday, March 1st, 2024.

Fall 2023: 4-Year Plan

In the fall, Caney Creek High School counselors helped all 8th graders at MJH create their 4-year plans. Please click on the following link to see the Career Pathway Guide that the students used to complete their 4-year plans.

What to do next?

Please review the courses your student(s) selected for next year. If you want to make changes, please make those changes on the pink Panther Verification sheet, sign it, and have your child turn it in to their school counselor by Friday, March 1st, 2024.
