Energy builders
The Energy Builders Team works under the Office of Sustainability at Connecticut College with the goal of raising awareness of energy consumption on campus.
objectives
Conduct energy audits to analyze campus energy usage, identifying areas for improvement and energy savings.
Identify areas of improvement and ways to save energy on campus by analyzing energy consumption through audits.
Building an online platform that shares the insights of this research with the community.
Develop a program to inform students, staff and faculty about energy saving behavior and practices, offered through workshops, seminars, and online resources.
Create and distribute posters and brochures to make information about energy-saving practices easily understood and widely available.
Engage the campus in energy conservation through energy saving competitions and green awareness.
Collaborate with facilities management to implement cost-effective energy-saving measures such as lighting retrofits, HVAC upgrades, and building automation systems.
Engaging with the Strategic energy management (SEM) program run by Eversource.
Report back on achievements, and conclude the efficacy of energy initiatives through data collected.
