Click here for our annual parent version of our school improvement survey. We are at 40 responses. Our goal is to have 75 or more parents respond to this short survey. The purpose of this survey is better to understand students' experiences at the STEM Academy and to help continue improving. Please carefully and honestly answer each question. Your response is anonymous; we review our data and use this to make improvements to our school each year. Last year, we had 74 parents respond, and we would love to have responses from this many again this year.

Anna graduated from Comstock High School and is currently a junior at the University of Michigan, and is triple majoring in Neuroscience, Anthropology, and Psychology.
Anna plans to get her PhD in clinical psychology to research and diagnose learning disabilities. Resources to help people with different learning styles are sorely lacking, and she wants to help create them and make sure they are equitably distributed.
Over the past two summers, Anna has worked as a research assistant at KBS Long Term Ecological Research. Anna is a member of the Tiger Elite Winter Guard and a set designer for N.E.R.D.S (Not Even Really Drama Students), a student theater organization.
Attending the STEM Academy helped Anna develop critical thinking skills that have helped her greatly in college and in life.
We have an ever-changing number of items in lost and found. Students can retrieve lost articles of clothing outside the gym.

Who doesn't love good news? If you have had a positive experience with a staff member this week, please take a moment and let me know. I send personal emails to staff members who receive a shoutout, and it really brightens their day to know they are making a difference. I also include Dr. Thoenes and Mrs. Ansel so they know how STEM staff are positively impacting families. We have been collecting shoutouts since 2018, and have 134 so far. Click here to fill out the form. It takes one minute.
Click here to access our weekly family letter from the positivity project. This week, our school community will focus on the Other People Mindset of Identifying and appreciating the good in others. It’s important to deliberately work to identify and appreciate others’ character strengths. It’s not always easy to notice people’s strengths, but it’s something we should all practice.
Often, it’s easier to blame others or focus on their mistakes, which can lead to negative feelings like jealousy or frustration. This negativity can create problems, not just for us but also for our relationships with others.
Here's the latest edition of Comstock Celebrations. This is a weekly publication of good news from around the Comstock district.
Many more celebrations will be coming soon!
