Dear Tibby Families,
First and foremost, I hope everyone is healthy and doing well. Although we all are still adjusting to social distancing and distance learning, I want each of you to know that I am grateful to our Tibby community for remaining positive during this difficult time. I was so elated to see your smiling faces as you picked up your learning packets and devices. Though we know and understand the impact of Covid 19 on our families, we want you to know that we are doing our best to provide our students with opportunities to engage in learning that is unique and beneficial.
Teachers are missing interacting with their students and collaborating with one another. They are concerned about potential gaps in student learning as well. In order to address some of those concerns and support the continuum of learning of our students during this unprecedented time, Compton Unified School District has established our Distance Learning Platform.
On this new online platform, you will find learning opportunities for your child that are located in our teachers' Google Classrooms. These assignments will continue to be updated in the coming weeks. Please reach out to our teachers via e-mail for assistance and clarification of assignments and expectations.
In addition. to our Teacher’s Google Classrooms, we understand that some of you may not have a device or connectivity at this point. Please know that we will provide each student grade TK-8th with a device, which will be available for pick-up during our drive-thru device distribution event.
We are also sharing with you access to some fantastic resources provided by the Los Angeles Office of Education. It is called AT-HOME LEARNING PLATFORM and it can be reached at https://cdol.lacoe.edu/oer/
We want to thank you and our entire community for the flexibility displayed during this challenging time. Additionally, we are sending an abundance of hope that we will see our students back in the classrooms soon.
May you stay healthy and safe!
Dr. TaJuana Cabaong, Principal
