Hello Whaley Warriors!

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year. I hope that you had a wonderful summer and that you were able to enjoy spending time with family and friends. Words cannot begin to express how much the Whaley staff misses seeing your smiling faces and interacting with you each day! The first day of school is Thursday, August 20th. Instruction this year will begin through distance learning. However, remember that this is only temporary. As soon we are able to do so, students will once again be back in class. Until then, we are going to work hard to provide every student with the rigorous and challenging instruction that they deserve!

All students are to pick up a device and textbooks prior to the first day of school. A schedule for device and textbook distribution was sent to all parents through the mail. In addition, the schedule is posted on Parent Square. Students will also receive their locator card that lists all of their classes when you come to get the device and textbooks.

Teachers will be interacting with students daily through Zoom or Google Meet. It is extremely important that all students login to their classes each day and that they actively participate in all learning activities that will be taking place in each class. Each teacher will have a Google Classroom. Google classroom join codes will be posted on Parent Square. Independent work that is assigned by teachers will be posted in their Google Classroom. Teachers are concerned about potential gaps in student learning, and, in order to address these gaps, it is going to require all staff members, students, and parents to work together to ensure that each student continues to achieve in all academic areas!

Thank you for your patience as we continue to strive to provide every Whaley student with the academic, social, and emotional support they need. Please keep in mind that we are all on this learning journey together and, by working as a team, our students will be successful!
