What to expect as a visitor to a job fair

This indoor event will be held in the gymnasium and the large multi purpose room in the modern facility of the Louis Millet Community Complex.  There will be over 30 employers represented. Each employer will have a table, signage indicating their business, a representative from the organization, information on jobs available and how to apply.  Visitors move through the rooms at their leisure and speak briefly to businesses that they are interested in.  Visitors are welcome to bring a hard copy or digital access version of their resume to leave with employers who are accepting applications on the spot.  There is no time limit to how long visitors can stay at the event. The event ends at 4:00pm. 

The event will attract a modest crowd and modest conversational noise levels.

The facility has a wheelchair ramp, automatic doors and public washrooms. Upon entering, guests will be greeted at a Welcome table, given information about the event and asked to fill a simple registration form so the host organizations can understand who is attending the event. This information is used for a tally of attendance numbers and to provide an opportunity for guests to access employment support services after the event if they wish to.  

Following registration, guests freely wonder through both rooms to interact with employers at their leisure.  This is a great opportunity to collection information about the business, career opportunities and contact information.

It is a good idea to have your resume up to date and your contact information available in case you'd like to share it at the event.
