Junior Auxillary of Columbus Scholarships

Junior Auxillary of Columbus offers scholarship opportunities to Lowndes County graduating high school seniors who will be attending a college or university following graduation.

Scholarship consideration is given to each student's "scholastic excellence and participation in school and community activities, but we [Junior Auxillary] strongly consider the applicant's work with children as well as his/her need for financial assistance."

Their preference is to assist students financially that will not receive much scholarship money.

They award "two special scholarship opportunities in memory of Junior Auxiliary members whose lives were dedicated to the service of others."

  • Miss Eleanor Slaughter Excellence Scholarship
  • Terry Brewer Memorial Scholarship

Special Scholarships require that students must meet criteria set for the JA scholarships and in addition, be outstanding in all areas with an emphasis on service and leadership.

Applications are attached or you can pick up a paper copy in Mrs. Rachel's office.
