In 2023, Columbus Academy started replacing its classroom projectors and Smart Boards with new BenQ Interactive Flat Panels (IFP), which are large 75” touch-screens with dual stylus, multi-touch support on its installed Android apps. Below are some official video tutorials on how to get started with them!
We also offer a CA Teachers' Manual (PDF document) that covers the primary features of a BenQ IFP, as 'one-stop' reading material and printing out.
This video covers the RP7503 model, but newer models have similar hardware interface design, so the tutorial still applies.
Our BenQ panels allow users to switch between inputs as Guests (RP03 models don't require a login) to other devices connected.

The quick sidebar menu buttons are available at both ends of the screen and can be dragged up or down to reposition them.
Usually the Tech Office recommends substitute teachers connect their loaner MacBook directly to the BenQ IFP - via a USB-C or HDMI cable provided, or wirelessly via AirPlay. This should allow them to project their laptop display easily and without logging into the IFP.
For classrooms with a BenQ RM7504 (or newer) model, there is an additional option to sign in as a "Guest" user so you can also browse the web and work on the panel's apps directly.
The BenQ EZ Tools can overlay annotations over almost all apps and sources. This allows you to add writing/drawing and access useful tools over anything you are displaying on screen.
Your BenQ remote not only serves as the main control for the IFP features, but also can serve as a laser pointer or spotlight tool over any app or source connected to the IFP.
BenQ's online Account Management Solution (AMS) allows each user to customize their Avatar image, background wallpaper, add shortcuts to their favorite web sites and apps.
You can easily access your files on Google Drive by linking your account to the BenQ "AMS Files" app on the AMS web site. You also have an option to enable "Auto Backup" feature in the AMS Files app to automatically upload your files to a 'BenQ Backup' folder.
EZWrite - BenQ's official whiteboard app, allows you to start an online whiteboard session from your MacBook or iPad first, then you can "invite" your IFP to that active cloud-based whiteboard session. The EZWrite whiteboard app is available for Macs and Windows PCs, and also works as a web app through modern web browsers, e.g. Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox - this way you can access EZWrite on iPads!
Starting a whiteboard session from the cloud means you will actively save your work online so you can load it on other devices with EZWrite, plus you can also invite collaborators to the same whiteboard session (e.g. other faculty or even students).
