Wall Street 101 is held at the Bentley University campus in Waltham, MA. This 5-day non-residential program provides a fun and interactive opportunity for rising high school students to learn about the financial industry and other business fields, from NASDAQ to IPO to Dow Jones. Top proposals will receive a grant to enact their solutions over a one-year period. Ohio Business Week
Students will be immersed in entrepreneurial and business learning throughout the week. They will preview what it is like to work on a real-life, project-based team – from working with different personalities and work styles to learning leadership and entrepreneurship skills directly from business professionals. While on campus, students will also participate in the Emerging Entrepreneur Project (EEP). During the EEP, each student team will research and write business, financial and marketing plans; design a web page; construct a trade show display; and create an advertising campaign to promote their product. The EEP competition culminates as each team gives a presentation to a panel of business professionals who pose as venture capitalists.
{Ohio Society of CPAs} Accounting Careers Awareness Program
ACAP-Ohio is presented by The Ohio Society of CPAs and the National Association of Black Accountants (NABA) and hosted at The Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business. Students are introduced to accounting, finance, leadership and management. Local CPAs and business leaders share their experiences and provide tips for success. Students attend workshops, discussions, tours, mentoring sessions, business luncheons and a college fair. Startup Moxie Bootcamp is an innovation and entrepreneurship summer camp that guides young women to become critical thinkers in a fun and engaging way. The program provides a blueprint for developing a startup or idea. Whatever you do in life, foundational business skills such as effective communication, sales and marketing, and financial management will serve you well. These skills let you transform your ideas into a real business that will give you greater control of your destiny. The Business & Entrepreneurship program introduces students to basic business fundamentals to provide a solid foundation. The purpose of the program is to provide a broad overview of key concepts in business. It is not a deep immersion into a specific aspects of business. Students gain exposure to business topics unique to entrepreneurship such as business plan development and Strategy. Over the course of the program students will form teams to develop a pitch deck for a new business and will present it to judges at the end of the program. While the program is primarily held in a classroom, it includes a guest speaker and a visit to an outside business.

A program of the Wharton Sports Analytics and Business Initiative (WSABI), the Moneyball Academy is a summer program that provides an opportunity for talented rising high school juniors and seniors to study sports analytics at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. This program focuses on using data to make deep discoveries in sports with a focus on becoming a data-driven decision maker. Instruction will focus on fundamentals of statistical thinking, real applications employed by statistics professionals in sports analytics and an introduction to statistical programming languages. In addition to learning statistical reasoning and key data analysis skills, students will be primed to be leaders in an increasingly data-driven economy. Topics include introductory statistics (including graphical and numerical summaries of data), basic probability theory, statistical reasoning and regression analysis by examining sports stats.

During this two-week residential program, you'll learn more about entrepreneurship, including the idea generation process, the Lean Canvas Model and elevator pitches, all while experiencing life as a UD student and exploring the local Dayton community. Develop practical skills and the ability to think critically while gaining valuable exposure to important business topics and methods of analysis. Students will be exposed to the essential aspects of business needed to launch and run a company, to include: finance, human resources, management, marketing, and operations. In addition to working alongside experienced faculty and collaborating in teams, this institute ends with a product presentation, in which students pitch ideas to potential investors showcasing the knowledge they gained throughout the week.

You’ll also work on developing your personal brand and a personal statement for a college essay.
