{Alfred University} Chamber Music High School Institute
The Summer Chamber Music Institute is a week-long overnight camp for String Players, Pianists, and Guitarists entering grades 9-12. Students have the opportunity to interact with world-class musicians and music educators from the MostArts Festival Orchestra residency. Our goal is to provide positive and creative experiences for musical and personal growth for every student, while having a great time at our beautiful Upstate NY campus. In this camp, students will be exposed to and participate in daily chamber music coaching, private lessons focused on mastering assigned chamber music repertoire, Masterclasses, Faculty Recitals, and a Student Chamber Music Performance on the last day for family and friends. Students have an opportunity to work on technique and explore various styles of chamber music playing. Auditions are not required to be admitted, however all students should have a minimum of 3 full years of experience on their primary instrument. We do not accept beginners. You will discover new challenges to further your growth as a musician and make new friends during an incredible week of music at the Summer Chamber Music Institute at Alfred University.

{California State Summer School for the Arts} Music
Every summer the California State Summer School for the Arts welcomes 70 to 80 music students for exploration in the performing arts. These students come to CSSSA from all over California to develop their skills at the highest level. They engage in challenging developmental programs in the company of peers who share their exceptional abilities and love for the arts. The CSSSA Music Program is increasingly relevant in a time when educational programs in the arts are vanishing from our cultural landscape. The program is at the forefront of the exploration of an array of musical genre that reflects our multi-cultural society. The unique music curriculum at CSSSA features instruction in theory, music history, African Drumming and Dance, Indonesian Gamelan, individual instruction, and collaborative efforts with other CSSSA departments such as dance, theater, and creative writing. A wide range of professional musical artists and entrepreneurs visits our campus to perform and discuss their art, experiences and vision with our students. In addition, there are many performance opportunities using the great spaces at the California Institute of the Arts.

{Carnegie Mellon University} Pre-College Music
Pre-College Music gives high school students the opportunity to improve as a musician and learn about life in a conservatory-style college curriculum. Throughout Pre-College Music, students gain valuable experiences; by being immersed in a conservatory style curriculum and in preparing for college auditions, while experiencing what life is like within an internationally-recognized, research university. The program includes six weeks of lessons and coaching that aid in choosing and preparing appropriate repertoire for undergraduate auditions. Pre-College Music also very closely mirrors the first six weeks of the undergraduate first-year curriculum - students take the same coursework, with the same schedule, classrooms, faculty and program rigor as first-year undergraduates.

{Furman University} Band & Orchestra Camp
Furman's Band and Orchestra Camp is an intensive one-week experience designed to encourage 260 students, ages 12-18, to fuel their musical enthusiasm and boost their playing skills. Talented musicians from across the country come to Furman with expectations of taking their performance skills to the next level. Students are challenged in vigorous daily rehearsals, musicianship classes, and master classes. Students perform in one of four large ensembles (a full symphony orchestra, a string orchestra, and two concert bands) and may audition for a jazz ensemble, various chamber groups, or perform as a soloist on the Honors Solo Recital.
{Furman University} Summer Jazz Camp
A joint program of Furman Music and the non-profit Greenville Jazz Collective, the camp is a unique experience designed to encourage HIGH SCHOOL students of all levels to fuel their jazz performance skills. Students will take daily classes in jazz theory, improvisation, and jazz history, and perform in a big band and/or jazz combo.

The Summer Keyboard Institute offers young pianists and organists, ages 12-18, a unique major and minor style of study in a variety of keyboard areas. Designed for intermediate and advanced pianists and organists, all students study piano or organ as their primary then select a secondary area in organ, piano, ensemble piano, or improvisation.
{Hotchkiss School} Summer Portal: Piano Program
The Piano Program is an intensive, two-week course that offers young pianists an opportunity to work with highly accomplished teachers, perform on a world-class stage, and attend inspiring concerts by guest performers. Through one-on-one lessons, group masterclasses, and lectures, students will refine their technique, expand their musical repertoire, and discuss common questions facing young pianists who want to take their craft to the next level: the best repertoire for an audition or competition, healthy practice routines, and building a portfolio for colleges and conservatories. A vibrant concert series is the culminating experience of Hotchkiss Piano Portals. Guest artists concerts are performed by the world-class faculty, while students perform in several Young Artists Concerts, held at the stunning Katherine Elfers Hall, or outdoors at the gorgeous Fairfield Farm. In addition to the performance opportunities on campus, the Hotchkiss Piano Program will bring a group of young pianists for a New York debut recital. Students will be selected through an audition process held during the first week of the program.
{Indiana University} College Audition Preparation Workshop
CAP offers intense study with your future college audition panel members...or at least people just like them. You will learn what they think and what they want to hear. We teach you how to walk into a room and make them trip over themselves to invite you to your dream school! Recommended for vocalists, brass players, and woodwind players entering grades 11 and 12 who are planning to apply for entrance to college music programs.
{Interlochen Center for the Arts} Music Summer Programs
Interlochen offers a wide range of musical opportunities for high school musicians and attracts some of the world’s most talented students and teachers. In addition to large-ensemble experiences, Interlochen Arts Camp also offers programs geared toward individual development/enrichment. The one-week instrumental intensives are held the week before multi-week programs start, so students are welcome to attend an intensive and then stay on for another program.

{New School} Summer Chamber Music Intensive
Join us for a brand new Summer Chamber Intensive this August, featuring a uniquely personalized experience for young musicians! Students will be grouped into chamber ensembles for the week and work closely with members of Mannes Prep’s outstanding and inspiring faculty. The week features a very low student/faculty ratio, a nurturing musical community, exciting performance opportunities, and plenty of fun! All students participate in daily chamber coachings, sight-reading classes, master classes and workshops, and jam sessions. The week culminates in a student performance, open to family, friends, and the public.
{New School} Summer Jazz Intensive
Join us for our first-ever weeklong Summer Jazz Intensive at Mannes Prep with the School of Jazz and Contemporary Music. Students are grouped in ensembles and work closely with distinguished performers and educators from the faculty of the school. The intensive features a low student-to-faculty ratio, a nurturing musical community, unique learning experiences, and a completion concert. All students participate in daily ensemble coachings, ear training, and theory classes; they also explore jazz history through a walking tour of the famous jazz clubs of Greenwich Village. The week culminates in a performance by the intensive faculty on Thursday night and student performances on Friday night that are open to friends, family, and the public.

The Curry Summer Music Camp provides opportunities for young musicians to partner with our professors and mentors. You will work with the experienced School of Music faculty, immerse yourself in music, and enjoy our beautiful Flagstaff campus.

{Oberlin College} Summer Programs
Summer Programs at the conservatory are from one to two weeks, and include working with resident and guest faculty, daily master classes, individual and group coaching sessions, audition and performance techniques, among other skills. Participants have full use of our facilities, including practice and study rooms. Depending on the program, participants may also be eligible to receive college credit.
As time permits, you may explore the wider Oberlin community, including libraries, restaurants, biking and walking trails, the Allen Memorial Art Museum, Apollo Theatre, and more.
At the conclusion of each session, students may take part in a recital, a group performance, or another program to share and showcase what’s been learned. If you desire an enriching and rewarding summer music experience, consider one of those at the conservatory.
{Ohio Northern University} Summer Music Camp
Ohio Northern University’s Summer Music Camp is designed for students in grades 7-12 and provides many performing and educational opportunities. Campers register as vocal, band or string major, with auditions held the first day of camp to determine chair and voice placement. Campers will have the opportunity to perform in symphonic band, symphonic choir, string orchestra, instrumental ensembles, show choir and/or jazz band, and will be exposed to music theory, music technology, conducting, dance, piano classes and jazz improvisation. Symphonic choir, symphonic band and string orchestra rehearse throughout the week and perform on the Friday night concert. The small ensembles will perform on Thursday night.
{Otterbein University} Summer Music Experience
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be a part of a college music program? Surround yourself with other students who share your passion and energy for music. Develop new insights into yourself as a musician and a performer. Challenge yourself in a week of intensive, real-world music study. Build your confidence through collaboration with other serious musicians. The camp welcomes composers, pianists, guitarists, classical singers, players of string, wind, brass, and percussion instruments. We will be following all of the appropriate COVID safety protocols to ensure our camp is safe for our campers and professors. Daily one-on-one instrumental or vocal lessons will be combined with a variety of course offerings. Our classes will focus on improvisation, theory and ear-training, musicians’ health, music technology and music history (popular and classical music).

University of Dallas Music Department faculty work with students in a variety of settings, including private lessons, masterclasses, music theory classes, and ensembles, creating an intensive, enriching, and rewarding experience.
{University of Massachusetts Amherst} Music & Technology
With little more than a computer, a microphone and a midi keyboard it is possible to explore all the wonderful ways of making music electronically. In this one week course we will focus on the principles of recording, editing and mixing digital audio as well as electronic synthesis and sequencing. In the process we will consider the basics of composition and arranging. No prior experience is required, but more advanced music students are welcome as well. We will all compose our own music in our favorite and other styles! Mornings will be spent in lab class, learning software and techniques, and afternoon sessions will be devoted to individual work on projects/compositions. Each student will have his/her own workstation. There will also be a field trip to a professional recording studio in the area. Come with open ears and a willingness to experiment!

We invite young musicians, music lovers and those who enjoy all forms of music and creativity for a week of music and memory-making on the UW–Madison campus. There is a creative artistic path for everyone!
