Frequently Asked Questions

Am I eligible to participate in the CAApS program?

Columbus Academy rising juniors and rising seniors with an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or greater are eligible to apply. Students must be 16 years of age on or before June 1.

Am I guaranteed a position?

Students will be selected by the Upper School Science Department Chair and the Director of Internships. The Director of Internships will then facilitate placement into available labs.

Will I be paid?

The CAApS experience is an unpaid opportunity. Students may be eligible to receive financial assistance for parking expenses.

Will I receive academic credit?

Per upper school policy, students will not receive academic credit for their CAApS experience.

Is there a final project?

Students will complete a poster presentation for the Columbus Academy community during the fall semester following the internship.

Can I still go on vacation?

Per Ohio State program policy, there may not be more than a 1-week interruption during the middle of the experience (i.e., vacation, sports camp, etc).

I don’t have a resume; how do I write one?
