Columbus City Schools high school students can earn recognition by showing they are prepared to contribute to the workplace and their communities. The Ohio Means Jobs-Readiness Seal is a formal designation which students can earn on their high school diplomas and transcripts. See the links below to learn about the process and requirements.

OHIO MEANS JOBS-READINESS SEAL STUDENT GUIDELINES:
1. Students must complete the Ohio Means Jobs-Readiness Seal Application with all required signatures. Applications must be submitted when beginning the program.
2. Students select a minimum of 3 mentors to validate the 15 identified professional skills on the Ohio Means Jobs-Readiness Seal Validation Form. Each of the 15 skills must have an initial and comment by at least one mentor for demonstration of that skill.
3. Students should select mentors they have worked with, activities they participated in and skills they demonstrated while in high school.
4. A student is only required to document how he or she demonstrated each skill in one of three possible environments – school, work or community. But, the student cannot document all 15 skills in the same environment. At least two environments must be reflected among the demonstrated skills.
5. Students should demonstrate proficiency in each of 15 identified professional skills on the Ohio Means Jobs-Readiness Seal Rubric. The OMJRS rubric is a supporting document which must be provided to students and mentors.
6. All paperwork for the Ohio Means Jobs-Readiness Seal must be completed and turned in to your building mentor no later than April 6th of 2023 if the student plans to graduate on time.
7. All paperwork – Must be delivered to Tiffany Tatum in the CTE Office – 600 Jack Gibbs Blvd., #126 Columbus, OH 43215 no later than Monday, April 17, 2023 (Located in room 126 of the Construction Arts Building).
