Summer Stem Family

Virtual Camp

What: STEMfamily Camp is a FREE, virtual camp. STEMfamily offers hands-on experiments that are fun for the whole family to investigate. This year, STEMfamily will explore topics in food science, electrical engineering, agriculture, polymer science, bioengineering and chemistry!

When: June 22-26, 2020.

Price: FREE!

Resources Needed*:

Materials: Materials are mostly household items – paper towel rolls, batteries, tape, etc. Please note: We will provide the list of materials needed to participate 2 weeks prior to camp.

Technology: Internet access and a device (laptop, iPad, or phone, etc.) are needed. Ideally families will be able to interact with each other, our professional facilitators, and industry volunteers for a brief period of time each day online.

*Please note: We understand this is a difficult time for many families and we want to be sure you have the resources to participate. We will have a limited number of material packs available for pick up. If you do not have Internet access and/or a device, print copies of the activities will be available as well. Pick up locations TBD.

How will STEMfamily Camp work?: Starting the morning of June 22, 2020, families will login into a STEMfamily Google Hangout to kick-off each daily activity, access additional resources and interact with volunteers from local industry. Facilitators will be available throughout the day for troubleshooting help. We will reconvene as a large group in the afternoon to share our creations with one another and upload videos and photos of our family fun on Twitter and/or a private Facebook group.
