Dress Code Guidelines

One of the outstanding hallmarks of a school that has PRIDE is a student body which maintains a high standard of dress and good grooming. Attention and care to good grooming and proper attire are marks of a mature person. A clean, well-groomed student body adds much to a school and its programs.

Proper attire for students attending Columbia High School are shirts, tops and dresses with sleeves and pants, shorts, skirts or slacks that fit properly at the waist.

Improper attire includes clothing with alcohol and drug advertisement or vulgarity, wearing hats, coats, pajamas, sleeveless and backless tops, tank tops, midriffs, halter tops, sports bras, tops with plunging necklines, mini skirts, gang related items, and any clothing that reveals undergarments, has sexual innuendos, represents any secret society, or any item of clothing that is disruptive to the school environment. Pants may not have holes that are above the upper thigh. The wearing of (tight) yoga pants, leggings, jeggings, dresses, skirts, etc. should be accompanied by a shirt or jacket that covers the midsection. Coats and backpacks must remain in lockers for the duration of the school day.
