愛樂園，原名為 La-La-Land，是個虛構的地方，比喻為徘徊、沉睡或做夢的心靈最終歸宿。在西班牙教學生涯中，每當我遇到發白日夢的學生，都會先用說笑的口吻問道“¿Estás en La-La-Land? ¡Vuelve pronto!” (你在愛樂園嗎？快歸來啊！)

學生在課堂上夢遊，我從來不怪也不生氣。如學生發呆，我會檢討是否我的課很沉悶以致無法跟學生的腦袋和心靈接上。 我要理解一個小孩或青少年是需要空間去幻想去做夢。可能我從不喊從不罵，只提醒一下「在愛樂園快歸來啊」， 他們大都很合作，笑著歸來。有些年紀小的，課後還會告訴我他們在愛樂園的趣事。

有段時間我常去遊歷我的愛樂園。有時是為了逃離現實的枷鎖；有時是去尋找現實看不到的答案。有時是跟先人對話；有時會重複自己做過的事情，並想像如果再來一次，我一定不會像從前那麼笨。

你也曾遊歷你的愛樂園嗎？

La-La-Land, according to the Oxford Dictionary, is “a stage of being out of touch with reality”. To many people, it is an imaginary place for the wandering, sleeping, or dreaming minds. During my teaching career in Spain, whenever I meet a student who is daydreaming, I would first jokingly ask: "¿Estás en La-La-Land? ¡Vuelve pronto!" (Are you on La-La-Land? Come back soon!)

I never blame or get upset when students daydream. If students are in a daze, I would check out if my class is so boring that I fail to connect to my students. It is also vital to know that a child or a teenager has the necessity to fantasize and dream. Perhaps I don´t bother to yell or scold, just a kind reminder of "come back soon from La-La-Land", most of them cooperate and return with a smile. Some younger ones would even tell me their adventures in La-La-Land after class.

There was a time I frequently visited my La-La-Land. Sometimes it was to escape the burden of daily life; sometimes it was to look for answers that could never be found in reality. Sometimes I chatted with someone who passed away; sometimes I replayed what I did in the past and imagined if I had the chance to undo it, I would not have been so stupid.

La-La-Land, según el Diccionario Oxford, es “una etapa en la que se pierde el contacto con la realidad”. Para muchas personas, es un lugar imaginario para mentes errantes, dormidas o soñadoras. Durante mi carrera docente en España, cada vez que me encontraba con un estudiante que estaba soñando despierto, primero le preguntaba en broma: "¿Estás en La-La-Land? ¡Vuelve pronto!" 

Nunca culpo ni me enfado cuando los estudiantes sueñan despiertos. Si los estudiantes están aturdidos, comprobaría si mi clase es tan aburrida que no logro conectar con mis alumnos. También es vital saber que un niño o un adolescente tiene la necesidad de fantasear y soñar. Tal vez no me molesto en gritar o regañar, trato de advertirles con el amable recordatorio de "vuelve pronto de La-La-Land", la mayoría coopera y regresa con una sonrisa. Los más pequeños incluso me contaban sus aventuras en La-La-Land después de clase.

Hubo un tiempo en que visitaba con frecuencia mi La-La-Land. A veces era para escapar del peso de la vida diaria; a veces era para buscar respuestas que nunca se podrían encontrar en la realidad. A veces charlaba con alguien que falleció; y otras repetía lo que hice en el pasado e imaginaba que si tuviera la oportunidad de deshacerlo, no habría sido tan estúpida.
