你是否有過這樣的感覺，整個世界突然為你靜止了？這也許是當你遇到深愛的人時觸電的感覺，或者是一瞬間你意識到自己做了一件災難性的事，又或者一些根本不可能的事情突然出現在你眼前。每一刻都忽然過得如此的緩慢，就像混在夢境與現實之間。

我不打算討論這是否是我們大腦的問題，或者是否違反物理定律。我只想說，幾乎每個藝術家在創作時都偶有這樣的感覺，而這感覺幾乎是不可缺少的。這是一種高敏感度和天賦的能力，用以解碼周圍發生的事情，重建藝術家認為最真實的東西。而這東西，就是你們稱為的「藝術」。

Have you ever had this feeling, that the whole world suddenly pauses for you? This is perhaps the sensation when you meet someone your deeply fall in love with, or the split second you realise you have done something disastrous, or the moment something utterly impossible appears before your eyes. EVERY MOMENT seems to go by so slowly, and it is like a confusion between dream and reality. 

I am not going to discuss whether it is a problem with the brain, or if it is against the laws of physics. I just want to say, it is almost essential for any artist to have this feeling from time to time when creating. This is the ultra-sensibility and a gift from the High Above, to decode what is happening and to reconstruct something that is most truthful to the artist, which you may call “art”.

¿Alguna vez has tenido esa sensación de que el mundo entero se detiene de repente para ti? Esta es quizás la sensación que tienes cuando conoces a alguien de quien te enamoras profundamente, o en la fracción de segundo en que te das cuenta de que has hecho algo desastroso, o en el momento en que algo completamente imposible aparece ante tus ojos. CADA MOMENTO parece pasar muy lentamente, y es como una confusión entre el sueño y la realidad.

No voy a discutir si es un problema del cerebro o si va en contra de las leyes de la física. Sólo quiero decir que es casi esencial para cualquier artista tener esa sensación de vez en cuando crea. Es la ultra sensibilidad y un don de lo Alto, para descifrar lo que está sucediendo y reconstruir algo que sea lo más verdadero para el artista, lo que podríamos llamar "arte".
