貓貓狗狗不是常常是乖巧聽話的，就像很多小孩，有頑皮和樂極忘形的時候。有次我們外出大半天，回家發覺沙發被咬破了兩個大洞。一次生日會， 我回頭拿蠟燭準備放在蛋糕上時，只不過是時數秒的時間，蛋糕就被舔了幾口。有一天回家，我們聽不見汪汪的歡叫聲，只看見兩隻狗低著頭，默默地躲在書桌下。看家裡的閉路電視，得知他們在家裡興奮地互相追逐，打破了我心愛的花瓶。楚楚可憐的樣子，叫我怎忍心去罵他們？ 有天看見學生臉上有三條血痕，兇手是他家裡的貓咪。學生聳聳肩但臉露笑容，似乎沒有怪罪兇手的意思。 有寵物的主人，就明白這些又氣又無奈的日常。每當我向朋友訴說這些，得來的反應大都是「哎呀，貓狗要教的！不見棺材他們學不懂！」 貓狗當然要教，但我反而學會多點的包容、多點的幽默。

Cats and dogs are not always well-behaved and obedient, just like many children that they can be over the moon and make disasters. Once when we returned home from shopping, we found two enormous holes on the couch! Once in a birthday party when I turned around to grab the candles, the cream on the cake was already gone. We used to hear their welcome barking when we arrived home but one day curious enough, they were very silent. They hid under the desk quietly with their heads lowered. To understand why, we watched the CCTV. It was because they broke my vase while they were over the moon chasing each other. How could I bear to scold them when they looked so remorseful? The other day a student came to school with three long scratches on his face. The culprit was his cat. The student shrugged but smiled, apparently he was not going to blame the culprit. Pet owners know these daily moments of anger and helplessness very well. When I told my friends about all those mischiefs, most of them said, "Oh, cats and dogs have to be taught! They can't learn without seeing their coffins!" Of course they need to be taught, but thanks to these lovely creatures, I have become a more tolerant person with a better sense of humour. 

Los gatos y los perros no siempre se portan bien ni son obedientes, al igual que muchos niños, que pueden ser “estar en la luna” y causar desastres. Una vez, cuando regresamos a casa después de hacer compras, ¡encontramos dos agujeros enormes en el sofá! Una vez, en una fiesta de cumpleaños, cuando me di la vuelta para agarrar las velas, la crema del pastel ya se había acabado. Solíamos escuchar sus ladridos de bienvenida cuando llegábamos a casa, pero un día, por curiosidad, se quedaron muy silenciosos. Se escondieron debajo del escritorio en silencio con la cabeza gacha. Para entender por qué, miramos las cámaras de seguridad. Fue porque rompieron mi jarrón mientras estaban en la luna persiguiéndose. ¿Cómo podría soportar regañarlos cuando parecían tan arrepentidos? El otro día un alumno llegó al colegio con tres largos rasguños en la cara. El culpable fue su gato. El estudiante se encogió de los hombros pero sonrió, al parecer no iba a culpar al culpable. Los dueños de mascotas conocen muy bien estos momentos diarios de ira e impotencia. Cuando les conté a mis amigos todas esas travesuras, la mayoría me dijeron: "¡Oh, hay que enseñar modales a los perros y a los gatos! ¡No pueden aprender sin ver sus ataúdes!". Por supuesto que hay que enseñarles, pero gracias a estas adorables criaturas me he convertido en una persona más tolerante y con mejor sentido del humor.
