我家的兩隻狗馬西和妮布拉， 每天第一件最興奮的事，就是立正且狂搖尾巴，等待我們每個去拍拍他們的頭，說聲早晨。有時候他們忽然汪汪的叫，請不要馬上閉他們的嘴，因為可能他們只是在回應遠方傳來的狗吠聲， 和同類打招呼。 每天準時七點，我住的地方就會有幾分鐘的狗狗大合唱，挺吵耳的， 但愛動物的人就會心微笑。

這幅畫裡的背景是西班牙式的房子，有小小的陽台、雅緻的護欄、低坡屋頂、木製的百葉窗和拱門， 色彩奪目。而畫中每個角色的化身，都是我親人好友的摯愛：Meela、Toast、Charlie、Maxi、Lucy、Mocha、Seven、Shayu… 感謝他們，為我們創造了一個溫馨的清晨大合唱。

The first thing my two dogs, Massai and Nebula, would do in the morning is to sit upright and wag their tails happily, waiting for us to pat on their heads and say “good morning”. Sometimes they bark at the balcony, but please do not hush them, for it might just be a gesture to respond to the barking of other dogs in a distance, to say “hello”. Every morning in my neighbourhood at seven sharp, there is a chorus of dogs singing for a few minutes. It is quite noisy to be honest, but people who love animals will smile.

The background of this painting is the Spanish-style houses, with tiny balconies, delicate railings, low-slope roofs, wooden shutters and arched doors – all in vibrant colours. The characters in the painting are the love of my relatives and friends: Meela, Toast, Charlie, Maxi, Lucy, Mocha, Seven, Shayu... Thanks to each one of them, I was able to reproduce the warm morning chorus I hear every morning and share with you here. 

Lo primero que hacían mis dos perros, Massai y Nebula, por la mañana, era sentarse erguidos y mover la cola alegremente, esperando que les diésemos unas palmaditas en la cabeza y les diéramos los buenos días. A veces ladran en el balcón, pero por favor no los hagas callar, puede ser simplemente un gesto para responder a los ladridos de otros perros a distancia, para decir “hola”. Todas las mañanas en mi barrio a las siete en punto hay un coro de perros cantando durante unos minutos. Para ser honesto, es bastante ruidoso, pero las personas que aman a los animales sonreirán.

El fondo de esta pintura son las casas de estilo español, con pequeños balcones, delicadas barandillas, techos bajos, contraventanas de madera y puertas arqueadas, todo en colores vibrantes. Los personajes del cuadro son los amores de mis familiares y amigos: Meela, Toast, Charlie, Maxi, Lucy, Mocha, Seven, Shayu... Gracias a cada uno de ellos pude reproducir el cálido coro matutino que escucho todas las mañanas y compartir con vosotros aquí.
