Arts in Schools

The arts are core to the development of students and are an essential component of public education. Involvement in the arts is associated with gains in math, reading, cognitive ability, and verbal skills. Research demonstrates that arts learning improves motivation, concentration, and confidence.

It supports the development of the 21st Century workforce and college readiness skills, which include critical thinking and reasoning, information literacy, collaboration, self-direction and invention.
