About Us

The University of Kansas, in Lawrence, KS, is the flagship institution of the state and the only AAU (Association of American Universities) member in Kansas. KU is recognized for academic excellence in medicine and health sciences (KU is a National Cancer Institute), architecture, business, education, engineering, journalism, social welfare, international programs, and a highly acclaimed Honors Program. Overall, KU offers ~400 fields of study. Students are drawn to the college town atmosphere, the unrivaled traditions and school spirit (including a perennial powerhouse men’s basketball program). More than 450 students from Colorado call Lawrence home every school year and more than 11,000 KU graduates live in Colorado, making CO one of the largest collection of Jayhawks in one state.
