About Us

Seattle Pacific University is a private, liberal arts university grounded in Christian faith. You'll learn in an environment that prioritizes personal connection with faculty through small class sizes. With 71 majors and 59 minors, you will receive expert instruction in a wide variety of fields, no matter your path. Top programs include Business, Nursing, Psychology, Pre-Medicine, Computer Science, and Engineering. We also offer unique programs like Music Therapy, Visual Communication, and Apparel Merchandising/Design. Over 80% of our students engage in an internship while at SPU, leveraging our Seattle location to add to our students’ career readiness.

The total enrollment is 3,529 students with 2,717 undergraduate students. SPU has a 13:1 Student to Faculty ratio and an average class size of 20 students. At SPU, we recognize diversity as a basic feature of God’s creation and core theme of the gospel. At the heart of SPU’s mission-centered focus on equity and inclusion is a belief in the equal dignity of all human beings as bearers of God’s image. Last year’s incoming class was above 50% students from underrepresented backgrounds and 43% first generation students.

Located in a Seattle residential neighborhood, SPU's 43-acre campus borders the Lake Washington Ship Canal and boasts majestic trees, beautiful gardens, and views of the mountains. You can hop on a bus and be in downtown Seattle in 10 minutes. SPU also owns and operates a wilderness campus and field station on Blakely Island, and a seaside campus/retreat facility on Whidbey Island.
