"One day, I was watching the newest episode of a podcast I enjoyed. In it, the hosts where going through each other's MyAnimeList profiles, a website which allows users to log and rate different anime & manga. I remember what was only supposed to be a brief segment in a 2hr long podcast episode ended up taking the entire runtime, not just because of what was ranked highly, but what got ranked lower than them. That experience opened my eyes to just much something like that can open the way for banter.

However, while anime/manga is one of my biggest passions, one that's also fundamental to me is my passion for video games. However, while there are many different logging websites (MyAnimeList, LetterBoxd, Goodreads, etc.), there aren't many in terms of video games. Hence, I made one of my own: GameShelf"

Logging Games

Pages

Each icon on the home page will take you to it's respective game page (or can be found via search). From here, users will be able to add games to their list

Rating

Users can rate their game out of 10, as well as define their play status with the game as well (Completed, Playing, Dropped, etc.). These values get recorded under the user list

User List

Once rated, the game will be added to the user list. The user list is set up to automatically add the game once rated, being sorted from highest score to lowest

Notes

If a score alone doesn't fully capture the user's experience with the game, users can add notes to the game as well, tied to each row, meaning they'll move with the game, if the list ranking shifts

Sharing

Once content, users can choose to download their respective lists and share it with friends and other video game-loving acquaintances

Rating Games

Average Scores

Beyond being able to rate games for personal lists, the website also keeps track of all scores recorded across all games. For each game, this displays as an average score on their respective game pages

Top Games

Under the "Top Games" page, all games with average rankings will be displayed in one list, going from highest rated to lowest
