Trip Information and Schedules

Your son/daughter has expressed an interest in attending the annual Georgia Technology Student Association Fall Leadership Conference on Jekyll Island. The event will be held Friday, November 10th through Sunday, November 13th. This conference will provide opportunities for leadership development and preparation for the spring competitive events conference.


The cost of this event is $180. The price includes conference registration, hotel, and bus transportation. You may pay for the entire trip at one time or you may make smaller payments with a total due by October 14th. A non-refundable bus deposit of $50 is due by September 28th. Please return the attached forms and your deposit payment made out to CHHS as soon as possible (if you are paying by check). Regrettably, once the registration has been sent in on October 14th, there can be no refund in case of cancellation by the student.


There is one meal included in the price which is lunch on Saturday. A box lunch will be provided. No other meals are included in the $200 fee.


This packet contains one copy each of the Personal Liability and Medical Release and the Code of Behavior forms. Please complete and sign both. There is also an Armada Boat Race release. The Boat Race is a fun engineering challenge event where students build a boat from cardboard and duck tape. The boats are then raced across the pool at the Villas. Up to three attendees may be in the boat.


We will be staying at the Villas by the Sea in Jekyll Island. 1175 Beach View Dr N, Jekyll Island, GA 31527

Phone:(912) 635-2521. Students will share a townhouse villa with approximately 5 other students. The villas are two story, 3 bedroom villas with sleeping room for 6-8.


Travel will be via charter bus. We will be departing from the Indian Trail Park and Ride commuter parking lot at the corner of Indian Trail and I-85 on Friday, November 10 at 5:45 AM. Please try to have your child there no later than 15 minutes before departure. We will be returning to that same spot by approximately 6:00 PM. on Sunday, Nov. 13th. Please make arrangements to meet your child at that time.
