Schedule preliminary meeting with your College Advisor to discuss college plans
Set up NAVIANCE Account with your Advisor
Prepare a “student resume” for recommenders
Request recommendation letters from two of your junior year teachers
Attend College Fairs
Begin writing the College Essay/Personal Statement
Conduct college research using your NAVIANCE account
Decide which colleges you would like to visit and make appointments for tours if possible
Go online and check out college and university websites and take virtual tours
Attend a Summer Test Prep Program
Take the SAT, ACT or CLT exam at least twice
Attend SUMMER Boot Camp

College Application Guidance: Learn the ins and outs of the college application process, including selecting the right colleges, the significance of the ACT, SAT, and CLT, understanding what a compelling personal statement is, ordering your transcripts, how to request letters of recommendation creating a student resumes and navigating financial aid options.

Finalize College essay
Meet with your College Advisor to finalize list of schools to which you will apply
Visit colleges/attend evening programs and receptions in Miami hosted by colleges on your list
Check scholarship deadlines
In October or early November submit Early Action and Early Decision applications
Check in with your recommendation writers
Take the SAT or ACT again/be sure to send scores to the schools to which you are applying
If applying for financial aid, complete the CSS Profile and the FAFSA in the Fall
Finish your applications
Complete SSAR
Apply for scholarships
Respond to college offers of admission/or scholarships
Attend Spring admitted student programs on the college campuses
Apply for Bright Futures
Notify the college you are planning to attend by May 1st
Be sure your college advisor knows each admission decision and update NAVIANCE accordingly
Tell your college advisor which college you are planning to attend via NAVIANCE
Senior Exit Interviews
Transcripts are considered official documents and are typically issued directly by the academic institution or its authorized representatives. They often bear the institution's imprint and are enclosed in sealed envelopes to maintain their integrity and authenticity. In some cases, electronic transcripts may also be available, which are sent securely via email or through an online portal. Transcripts may take anywhere from 24 - 48 hours to be sent.
