You will be contacted by a tutor who will be working with you over the 4 weeks of the programme. Your tutor will contact you via the email address that you have provided to the college.
This will be where you can talk directly with your tutors and to ask any questions that you may have.
Staff will be able to guide you through the work below and give feedback as you go.

to discover whether you have what it takes to become a police officer. It will also provide you with information about the different entry routes into the police and explain the stages in the application process. This information will be useful to you if you are called to an interview for one of our Public Services courses. You can also find out more about the police though The Met:Policing London programme that is available on the BBC iplayer and there is also a useful link on our resource sheet to a video about police stop and search powers.

Welcome to Public Services at Coleg Sir Gar and Week 3 of the Applicant Programme
My name is Louise Fensome and I am part of the Public Services Teaching team at Coleg Sir Gar.
This week's task is to look at the reasons behind Stop and Search and why searches are carried out in the Public Services. At all levels on the course, this is an area which is explored. I have created a short PowerPoint, which contains a few questions to get you thinking about your own experiences, a short quiz which is to test your knowledge on how much information you have taken in from the PowerPoint and a YouTube clip which explains in detail the search process.

For your final task this week, there are two quizzes for you to complete. One is the UK Parliament and the other the Welsh Assembly. You can do either one first. Click on the relevant google form, watch the video at the top of the form and answer the questions below. This will give you an idea of what we will be studying on our courses at whichever level you undertake in September.
