You will be contacted by a tutor who will be working with you over the 4 weeks of the programme. Your tutor will contact you via the email address that you have provided to the college.
This will be where you can talk directly with your tutors and to ask any questions that you may have.
Staff will be able to guide you through the work below and give feedback as you go.
1) In plumbing, the subject of science is really important. It helps us understand the properties of different materials we come across on a daily basis. This week we are going to explore the properties of cold water.
2) Please watch the video and read through the powerpoint on the properties of water and then, when you are ready, attempt the 15 multiple choice questions on the Google form. You will receive your result at the end of the test. Good luck!
Safety Signs
Aim of session:
Whilst working on a construction site, you will come into contact with many safety signs that are designed to protect you and give you information about procedures to follow. It is very important that before you have access to the sites, that you are aware of what the signs are telling you. Please read through the Safety signs information on Google slides to access the information required. Then, when you are ready, open the safety signs questions in google forms to test your knowledge.
The session will introduce you to the four main categories of safety signs and to be able to identify individual safety signs. At the end of the lesson you should be able to:
Name the four main categories of safety signs.
Identify individual signs.
Explain the meaning for each category.

Aim of this session:
This session is designed to provide you with a fundamental understanding of the Site preparation for new and existing dwellings. Learning material will look at tools and fixings used in the installation process and understand the operational health and safety risks involved in working on new build and existing properties.
Aims of this session
To introduce you as to how water is collected, treated and comes out of the taps in our homes and to some of the various types of taps and valves we could find commonly in use in our homes.
