PLASTERING

Rydym wrth ein bodd i gymryd y cyfle hwn i'ch croesawu i'n hadran ni. Bydd y dudalen hon yn cynnal gweithgareddau i chi eu cwblhau wrth baratoi ar gyfer eich astudiaethau gyda ni ym mis Medi.

Bydd y gweithgareddau isod yn gyfle gwych i chi gael blas ar y cwrs a rhai o’r meysydd y byddwch yn eu harchwilio.

Bydd hwn hefyd yn gyfle gwych i ni ddod i adnabod ein gilydd ac i chi ddechrau cwrdd â rhai o’r dysgwyr a fydd yn astudio gyda chi yn ein hadran.

We are excited to take this opportunity to welcome you to our department. This page will host activities for you to complete in preparation for your studies with us in September.

The activities below will be an excellent opportunity for you to get a flavour of the course and some of the areas that you will be exploring.

This will also be a good opportunity for us to get to know one another and for you to start to meet some of the learners who will be studying with you in our department.

Keeping in Touch!

You will be contacted by a tutor who will be working with you over the 4 weeks of the programme. Your tutor will contact you via the email address that you have provided to the college.

This will be where you can talk directly with your tutors and to ask any questions that you may have.

Staff will be able to guide you through the work below and give feedback as you go.

WYTHNOS 1 - Wythnos sy’n dechrau dydd Llun 22ain Mehefin

WEEK 1 - Week beginning Monday 22nd June

This weeks work will cover Personal Protective Equipment that we use in the Construction Industry during practical plastering activities.

We’ve prepared some learning material for you and this will provide an indication of course content during your studies.

By the end of this session you will:

Know what is PPE

Know how to use personal protective equipment (PPE)

Understand the different types of PPE

Read the information document, this will aid in answering the assessment activity.

Thistle Plasters / Materials

This week's work will cover thistle plasters and materials. Read the information document, this will aid in answering the assessment activity. Attempt the activity by following the activity instructions. Room name for activity is WILLIAMS6009

Knowledge of different types of plaster materials
Identify what different materials are designed for i.e. different backgrounds, different finishes.
Understand what material is used on certain background
Understand difference from Backing Plaster to Finish Plaster
Identify what different material should be used for

WYTHNOS 4 - Wythnos sy’n dechrau dydd Llun 13eg Gorffennaf

WEEK 4 - Week beginning Monday 13th July

Two coat plaster work

This week's work will cover two coat plaster work. Watch the video as this will aid in answering the assessment activity. Attempt the activity by following the activity instructions. Room name for activity is WILLIAMS6009

By the end of this session you will be able to:

Understand how to complete a task of Two Coat Plaster to a wall
Understand the product your using i.e. how to use, how to mix and how to apply on the wall
How to achieve the finish for the product i.e. for Undercoat Plaster and Finish Plaster
Know what work needs to be done to achieve a finished wall ready for decoration
